Summary

• In Grader Than, the workspace fails to start (“An error occurred while trying to start your workspace”), or submissions get stuck in an infinite pending state (“Hang tight while we take a byte out of your code!” / Results pending).

Steps to Reproduce

1. Log in to Grader Than
2. Open an assignment/workspace
3. (Or) Submit code and check the Results tab

Expected Behavior

• The workspace should start normally, and submission results should be graded and displayed within a few minutes.

Actual Behavior

• Workspace start error: “An error occurred while trying to start your workspace. Please try restarting the workspace.”
• Or, after submission, the Results page stays on “Hang tight while we take a byte out of your code!” / “Results pending” for a long time (e.g., 21 hours).

Troubleshooting Tried

• Refresh / hard refresh
• Restart workspace
• Log out and log back in
• Retried in an incognito window
• (If applicable) Disabled browser extensions (e.g., ad blockers) and retried
• (If applicable) Tried a different browser / different network
